I would urge more people to use native terminal tiling, like what you get in the awesome #kitty terminal with Ctrl+Shift+Return.
For these two features alone, it’s worth it: Your scroll wheel works, and you can click and drag to select just the text in the split terminal that you want.
Going back to tmux and its split panes, I realised just how awesome tiling in kitty is.
tmux rocks, of course (so does GNU screen!), but I’ll stick to kitty whenever I can.
