I just figured out I can stop Emacs from telling me each time it saves a file with:
(setq save-silently t)
And man, that wee change brings much needed calmness to my UI.
I still know when the buffer is unsaved because of indications on the mode line. And I still get messages if anything failed when saving.
Highly recommended.
